Install checklist

1. 1Use a physical Android device for testing; the app is Android-first and designed for low-cost phones.
2. 2Download the APK from the pilot link and allow “Install unknown apps” only for the browser or file manager you trust.
3. 3Open SafeRide, complete onboarding, review permissions, and configure stealth/quick-exit settings before field use.
4. 4Do not enter real survivor evidence during unsupervised testing; use synthetic reports until safeguarding review approves live pilots.

Pilot caveats

• The app can operate headlessly/offline without a backend for local drafts and core flows.
• Supabase remains the prototype integration in the repo; the planned production direction is a first-party API.
• On-device Gemma assets are large and should be downloaded on Wi-Fi with the device charging.
• Final support-provider, privacy, and analytics settings require pre-launch approval.
